Paris, for all of its romantic allure and glittering beauty, also has a darker side. Many places that we went to in Paris had homeless people and beggars. It is ironic, to me, that a socialist leaning culture like that of the French, would allow so many individuals to slip through the cracks of an otherwise admirable social services network.
This fellow was catching some shut eye in the Pigalle metro station in Paris. He was ignored by everyone who passed by and allowed the luxury of a few minutes of uninterrupted sleep.
